CHRIS BENOIT
WRESTLER PROFILEABOUT CHRIS BENOIT
I need to search for information about Chris Benoit to provide accurate details for this bio.The Canadian Crippler had a 22-year career working for various major promotions across three continents. A five-time WCW/WWE United States Champion and two-time world champion, he won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XX in 2004 after capturing the Royal Rumble. His grind-it-out, physical style mixed technical grappling with stiff offense, working the neck, back, and arms with quick mat transitions.
He passed away on June 24, 2007, leaving behind a legacy as one of the top 10, maybe even the top 5, all-time greats according to historian Dave Meltzer. WWE subsequently removed nearly all mentions of him from their website, future broadcasts, and publications.
