Andre Chase – ‘WWE Wanted To Sign Me As A Coach, Which Came With A Higher Salary Than A Wrestler’

Burst onto the scene in the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament and quickly built a cult following with his unique brand of in-ring intensity and “teachable moments,” Chase built Chase U with devoted students like Duke Hudson and Thea Hail into one of NXT’s most entertaining institutions. Chase captured the NXT Tag Team Championship twice—first with Duke Hudson and later with Ridge Holland in August 2024. Portraying himself as a stern educator, his professor persona became a core element of his presentation and led to the formation of the Chase University stable. His leadership of Chase U lasted from late 2021 to late 2024, with a run concluding when Ridge Holland defeated him in a match that forced Chase U to disband, after which he was phased out as a regular television character.
Released from his WWE contract on April 24, 2026, he announced he was taking independent bookings on June 4th now known as “The Professor” Andre Chance. His non-compete clause expired, making him available for bookings.
