El Maestro Lagunero, Genaro Vázquez Nevarez, has been one of lucha libre's preeminent technicians since debuting in 1978. He became the inaugural CMLL World Middleweight Champion by defeating El Satánico in 1991, with a résumé that also includes the Mexican National Middleweight Championship, CMLL World Trios Championship, and the CMLL World Tag Team Championship alongside Atlantis. On September 19, 2008, during the 75th Anniversary of CMLL at Arena México, he lost his mask to Villano V in one of the era's defining apuestas moments. While CMLL remains his primary home, Panther has also appeared in AEW, ROH, RevPro, and MLW in recent memory.
On September 21, 2025, Blue Panther defeated Último Guerrero at Arena México to capture the MLW National Openweight Championship, marking his first singles championship victory in 20 years. At Homenaje a Dos Leyendas on March 20, 2026, Blue Panther was involved in El Satánico's retirement match. Most recently, per the WAW coverage noted, he dropped the MLW National Openweight title to Austin Aries via the Last Chancery on the June 20, 2026 MLW Fusion 200th episode special.
