Windham Rotunda, the man behind Bray Wyatt, was pro wrestling’s most fearless creative mind — a shapeshifter who cycled through the bayou cult leader of The Wyatt Family, the unhinged Firefly Fun House host, and the nightmarish Fiend without ever losing the crowd. He captured the WWE Championship in 2017 and claimed the Universal Championship twice as The Fiend, feuding at WrestleMania with John Cena, The Undertaker, and Randy Orton.

Wyatt died of a heart attack on August 24, 2023, following a previous battle with COVID, at just 36 years old. His last televised appearance had come in February 2023, months after his headline-making return at Extreme Rules. His brother Bo Dallas has since carried the torch, fully transforming into the Uncle Howdy character and leading the Wyatt Sicks stable in WWE, ensuring the legacy of the most imaginative character architect of his generation lives on.
