BRITT BAKER

The first woman ever signed to AEW, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. made history as the first female wrestler contracted by the promotion and became one of its defining stars. She captured the AEW Women's World Championship at Double or Nothing in May 2021, forcing Hikaru Shida to submit to the Lockjaw. She held the title for 290 days before losing it to Thunder Rosa in a steel cage match on the March 16, 2022 episode of Dynamite. Her finishing move, the Lockjaw, is a scissored armbar mandible claw that doubles as a calling card for her legitimate dentistry background — a gimmick layer that made her one of the most recognisable characters on the roster.

Baker has been absent from in-ring competition for over 16 months, with her last match being a victory over Penelope Ford on the November 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite. She is medically cleared and healthy with no reported injuries, but there are currently no creative plans in motion to bring her back. Baker fuelled fan speculation when she replied that her return is "not up to her" after being asked why AEW did not bring her back at Revolution 2026. WWE and Triple H have been reported as interested in signing Baker once her AEW contract expires.
