/ ABOUT BUDDY MATTHEWS
Matthew Adams made his name in WWE as Buddy Murphy, winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on 205 Live and capturing the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship alongside Seth Rollins. He was the first Australian to win a championship in WWE after claiming the NXT Tag Team Championship with Wesley Blake. Released from WWE in June 2021, he debuted for All Elite Wrestling in February 2022 and became a former AEW World Trios Champion.
Matthews performs for All Elite Wrestling under the ring name Buddy Matthews, though he has been sidelined since February 2025 after suffering an ankle injury. He was recently cleared to begin wrestling again and is scheduled to wrestle on a five-show tour for World Series Wrestling in late October and early November.
