Callum Newman

Brought into NJPW by Will Ospreay after cutting his teeth on the British independent scene, Newman eventually ascended to lead United Empire following Ospreay's departure. As leader he became a two-time IWGP Tag Team Champion before winning the 2026 New Japan Cup, which led to him capturing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship — making him the youngest wrestler ever to win both. The title victory also saw him surpass Shinsuke Nakamura as the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history. His conniving, rule-bending style defines the reign: a referee distraction allowed him to land a low blow on Tsuji before sealing the win with his Make Way finisher.

Newman is currently in his first reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion, and heading into Dominion on June 14 at Osaka-jo Hall, he faces a rematch with Yota Tsuji — the man he dethroned at Sakura Genesis. The build has been volatile: at the pre-show press conference, Newman put Tsuji through a table, ratcheting up the heat for what promises to be one of NJPW's most personal Dominion main events in years.
