Batista rose to fame during the Ruthless Aggression Era, winning the WWE Championship twice and the World Heavyweight Championship four times. His first World Heavyweight Championship reign lasted 282 days, still standing as a WWE record for longest single reign in that title’s history. He defeated The Undertaker, John Cena, and Randy Orton while winning two Royal Rumble Matches. Seeking to end his career on his own terms, Batista faced Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in a brawl that proved a worthy farewell for The Animal.
An American actor and retired professional wrestler, Batista has transitioned fully to Hollywood since his final WWE appearance. His breakthrough role was as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, reprising the character in sequels and other Marvel films, and he was cast in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films as Beast Rabban Harkonnen.
