A Pittsburgh native who carved out his identity in WWE as “The Drifter” Elias — a guitar-wielding, crowd-taunting character who debuted on NXT in 2014 before earning his main roster call-up in 2017 — he became a multi-time champion and WWE Breakout Superstar of the Year in 2018, feuding with names like Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman along the way. Released by WWE in September 2023 after a nine-year run spanning both NXT and the main roster, he returned to the independent circuit in 2024 under the new ring name Elijah before landing in TNA in February 2025.
His TNA debut came on the February 20, 2025 episode of Impact!, where he made a surprise save of TNA World Champion Joe Hendry from an attack by The Colons, then teamed with Hendry to defeat them that same night. He went on to score victories over Brian Myers and Shane Haste, teamed with Hendry in a marquee Steel Cage 10-man tag at Sacrifice, and earned a TNA World Championship shot against Trick Williams at Against All Odds. Most recently, Elijah is set to face AJ Francis in a grudge match at TNA Slammiversary 2026, taking place June 28 at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts.
