About Gabe Kidd
Born out of the BC War Dogs, the Mad Man carved his name into NJPW lore through relentless brawling and a brutally violent in-ring style that made him one of the company’s most compelling figures. His first title came in May 2024 — the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship — won at the expense of Eddie Kingston and a broken leg. He then captured the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Dominion, defeating Yota Tsuji, and retained it against Hiroshi Tanahashi via the Drill-a-Hole piledriver.
Kidd has been sidelined since suffering a setback at AEW Dynasty in April 2026, but made his return felt immediately. At NJPW Dominion 6.14, he stormed the ring after Shota Umino’s Global title win and attacked him, telling Umino he was never one of the Death Riders before spitting on the NJPW Lion Mark. He has been confirmed for the B Block of G1 Climax 36, beginning July 11 in Chicago, marking his return to competition.
