About HENARE

Born Aaron Henry in Auckland, New Zealand, HENARE is a Māori professional wrestler who underwent a career-defining transformation in 2023 when he debuted a traditional tā moko facial tattoo, making him the first Polynesian wrestler to sport the marking in a mainstream promotion. The cultural reset unlocked a breakthrough year in 2024, as HENARE captured both the NEVER Openweight Championship and the IWGP Tag Team Championship. He defeated Shingo Takagi for the NEVER title at New Japan Soul on June 16, 2024, before dropping it back to Takagi at Destruction in Kobe after a 105-day reign. He and Great-O-Khan then won the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Power Struggle on November 4, 2024.

The reign was short-lived, as HENARE suffered a right knee injury that forced the titles to be vacated in December 2024, sidelining him for the entirety of 2025. He returned at Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4, 2026, teaming with United Empire stablemates in a multi-man match against Bullet Club War Dogs. He and Great-O-Khan recaptured the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Dominion 6.14 on June 14, 2026, defeating the Knock Out Brothers. The duo also hold the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship alongside Will Ospreay, with the pair eyeing a potential Forbidden Door defense.
