About JBL

Bradshaw made his bones as a brawler under the ring name as a member of The New Blackjacks with Barry Windham and, later, The APA alongside Ron Simmons, becoming a three-time WWF Tag Team Champion. In 2004, the Texan re-emerged as a self-styled millionaire calling himself a “Wrestling God,” defeated Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship, and held the title for 280 days while overcoming Big Show, The Undertaker and Booker T. JBL eventually lost the championship to John Cena and later worked as a WWE color commentator before retiring in 2017.

Beginning in January 2026, Layfield serves as an English color commentator for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide alongside Rey Mysterio. He has hinted at a potential return to the ring in 2026 and previously returned for a battle royal last year, his first match in over a decade. Recently, JBL was on commentary for AAA Noche de los Grandes in Monterrey, Mexico, where he praised Chad Gable’s performance.
