About Joe Doering
A Canadian powerhouse built for hard-hitting, lariat-heavy brawling, Doering made his name in All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he captured the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship twice — first on July 27, 2014, defeating Suwama to become only the sixth non-Japanese winner of the title. He later joined TNA as a core member of Violent By Design alongside Eric Young and Cody Deaner, capturing the TNA World Tag Team Titles twice under Freebird Rules, including a reign won at Sacrifice in March 2022.
Doering’s last in-ring appearance came in July 2022 when he challenged Josh Alexander for the Impact World Championship at Against All Odds. He is now entering hospice care amid his third battle with brain cancer. First diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, the disease returned in 2022, and last November his family revealed he was fighting a third tumor.
