Joey Janela

One of GCW's most beloved fixtures, the self-proclaimed "Bad Boy" from Asbury Park, New Jersey has been a cornerstone of the independent scene since debuting in 2006. After twelve years as a free agent, Janela racked up titles across GCW, CZW, and PWS before a brief AEW run. He is also the promoter of the Joey Janela's Spring Break event series for GCW, one of WrestleMania Week's most anticipated indie spectacles. A lifelong devotee of ECW-style hardcore, Janela built his name on a high-risk, uncompromising approach to the craft.

In April 2026, Janela headlined Spring Break X against Brodie Lee Jr. in a 28-minute match, which Lee Jr. won. Most recently, HOOK defeated Janela at GCW Race Against Time on June 19 in Cincinnati — a match that wound up stealing the show, with Janela drawing praise for his veteran ring work.
