About Katsuyori Shibata
Known for his stiff offense, Shibata built his reputation as a three-time NEVER Openweight Champion and one-time IWGP Tag Team Champion during an eleven-year tenure with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he also served as a trainer at the LA Dojo. He won the New Japan Cup in 2017 and later held the ROH Pure Championship before departing NJPW in December 2023.
Shibata is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling as a member of The Opps alongside Samoa Joe and Hook. The Opps lost the AEW World Trios Championship on January 14, 2026, ending their 273-day reign.
