Arriving in WWE as a 12-time champion across CMLL, DDT, and Pro Wrestling NOAH, he earned the nickname the Ticking Time Bomb for a wrestling style built on urgency, speed, and total physical commitment. Takahashi spent 16 years in New Japan and left as one of the promotion's most decorated performers of his generation, earning multiple major championships.

Currently signed to WWE on SmackDown, he was revealed as Shinsuke Nakamura's mystery tag team partner in August 2026.
