A 2006 Diva Search winner who became a cornerstone of the Divas era, Layla is best remembered for forming the “Flawless” team LayCool alongside Michelle McCool on SmackDown, capturing the WWE Women’s Championship in May 2010 — the first British woman to do so and the last recognized holder before the title was retired. She returned from a year-long injury absence in April 2012 to win the WWE Divas Championship, holding it until September of that year. She wrestled for three more years before retiring in 2015.
Nearly a decade removed from in-ring competition, Layla has indicated she is open to a WWE return, with a potential LayCool reunion against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven among the scenarios she has floated publicly. She has reflected on her trailblazing legacy as the first Arab woman, first British woman, and first Diva Search winner to hold WWE gold.
