Montel Vontavious Porter built his legacy as a two-time WWE United States Champion, with his first reign clocking in at a SmackDown-record 343 days after dethroning Chris Benoit at Judgment Day 2007. He simultaneously held the WWE Tag Team Titles during that run, making him a double champion. After departing WWE in 2010, MVP headed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he became the inaugural IWGP Intercontinental Champion. He returned to WWE in 2020 and assembled The Hurt Business around Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, guiding Lashley to the WWE Championship.

MVP made his surprise AEW debut at Grand Slam on September 25, 2024, and the following week on Dynamite’s fifth anniversary episode introduced Shelton Benjamin, with the duo reforming under the banner of The Hurt Syndicate. Bobby Lashley reunited with the group at Fright Night Dynamite, and in January 2025, Benjamin and Lashley captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship. MVP currently operates as manager and part-time wrestler for the stable in AEW.
