Randy Savage

One of wrestling’s most electrifying performers, “Macho Man” Randy Savage built a 32-year career defined by his flying elbow drop, unmatched intensity, and unrivaled mic work. He captured the WWF Intercontinental Championship in 1986, won the WWF title at WrestleMania IV in 1988, headlined WrestleMania V against Hulk Hogan, scored a second WWF reign at WrestleMania VIII over Ric Flair, then claimed four WCW World Heavyweight Championships between 1995 and 1999 — a title haul cementing him among the all-time greats.

Savage’s final in-ring run came in TNA in 2004, but backstage creative disagreements cut that stint short, and back injuries soon ended any remaining competition plans. He stepped almost entirely away from public life after WCW folded in 2000 and died on May 20, 2011, following a heart attack while driving in Seminole, Florida. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015, with Hulk Hogan delivering the tribute.
