About Shawn Michaels
A four-time world champion and two-time Royal Rumble winner, the Heartbreak Kid is universally regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers in wrestling history. His WrestleMania moment beating Bret Hart in the first televised WWF Iron Man match on March 31, 1996 remains one of the sport’s most iconic title changes. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 as an individual and again in 2019 as a member of D-Generation X, his Sweet Chin Music and bump-selling artistry set the standard for main event WWE matches across two generations.
After a final match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI in March 2010, Michaels stepped away from competition and transitioned to the front office. He now serves as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, overseeing NXT. A Peacock documentary, The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels, began streaming April 13, 2026, tracing his journey from his earliest days to his current executive role.
