Skylar Dolecki has emerged as an agile junior heavyweight in AEW's women's division since 2021, initially establishing herself as a bright babyface before embracing a darker persona. She earned a world title shot after defeating Britt Baker, Mercedes Martinez, and Nyla Rose in a four-way match to become AEW Women's World Championship number one contender, and challenged Mercedes Moné for the AEW TBS Championship. Following a September 2023 storyline with Julia Hart involving black mist, she became a darker, more aggressive character, with five independent women's championships across regional circuits cementing her reputation.

After suffering an ankle injury requiring surgery in July 2024 that sidelined her for nine months, she returned in May 2025 and aligned with Sisters of Sin partner Julia Hart and Thekla in the Triangle of Madness stable, which helped Thekla win the AEW Women's World Championship in 2026. Most recently on May 20, 2026, Athena and Triangle of Madness defeated Mina Shirakawa, The Brawling Birds, and Thunder Rosa.
