Signed to AEW on November 27, 2019, The Blade became an AEW stalwart alongside tag partner The Butcher, feuding with top teams including the Young Bucks, Lucha Bros., and Jurassic Express. Though featured prominently in their early AEW run, the duo never captured the AEW World Tag Team titles. The Blade’s career was derailed by fusion back surgery that kept him sidelined for two years, while his partner worked singles matches with limited success.
The Blade and Butcher were not offered contract extensions after their deals came up, making them free agents following their near seven-year AEW tenure. Since returning from injury in December 2025, The Blade has reunited with The Butcher on the independent scene and they’re set to compete for GCW in June.
