Buffalo’s Andy Williams, better known as The Butcher, is a rare crossover act — the rhythm guitarist of metalcore band Every Time I Die who built a legitimate career as a 273-pound wrecking machine. Teaming with The Blade from September 2017, the duo captured the PWR Tag Team Championship in their debut and toured the independent circuit before landing in AEW. Debuting on the November 27, 2019 episode of Dynamite with a post-match attack on Cody Rhodes, they became a staple of AEW’s tag division in its formative years, with The Butcher earning a singles world title shot against Jon Moxley on Dynamite in November 2020.
In June 2026, AEW contracts for both Butcher and Blade expired, ending their near seven-year tenure with the promotion. AEW management opted not to extend new contract offers to the duo. Since The Blade’s return from a spinal fusion surgery, the two had already reunited on the independent scene and teased a return to AEW as recently as January 2026 — a call that never came. As recently as March 26, 2026, The Butcher fell to Krule at Wrestling Open, challenging for the Undisputed IWTV Independent Wrestling World Title. Both men are now fully open to bookings across the independent landscape.
