Tiger Mask IV
About Tiger Mask IV
Portrayed by Yoshihiro Yamazaki, the longest-running incarnation of the Tiger Mask character, this version debuted on July 15, 1995 at Korakuen Hall against The Great Sasuke, trained by the original Tiger Mask himself, Satoru Sayama. After beginning his career in Michinoku Pro Wrestling and capturing the UWA World Middleweight Championship, he joined NJPW in 2002 and became a cornerstone of the junior heavyweight division, racking up six IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship reigns and back-to-back Best of the Super Juniors victories in 2004 and 2005. He also holds two IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team titles, two GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag titles, and the AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title, won in 2022.
Following a tag win alongside Shota Umino at NJPW’s Road to Sakura Genesis in April 2026, Tiger Mask announced his retirement date and immediately challenged DOUKI for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship — one final title shot before the curtain falls. His retirement show is set for July 7 at Korakuen Hall, the same venue where he first debuted over three decades ago.
