The Stone Pitbull built his legend on a record six NEVER Openweight Championship reigns in NJPW, becoming the definitive standard-bearer for that title through relentless, stiff-striking brawls that consistently rated among the best matches of any given year. He also holds the ROH World Television Championship and two reigns as Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion. In April 2025, he added the Strong Openweight Championship to his legacy, defeating Gabe Kidd in a 30-minute Iron Man match at Windy City Riot.
Ishii had been off AEW TV since February, sidelined by a neck injury suffered at NJPW The New Beginning USA on February 27. He made his surprise return on the June 3 Dynamite at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Virginia, appearing in a backstage segment with The Conglomeration — alongside Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong. No in-ring date has been confirmed, but his reappearance signals a return to action is imminent.
