Adam Copeland has credited his departure from WWE for AEW as the reason he was able to headline MLP Northern Rising in his hometown of Toronto, defeating Steve Maclin in the main event at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
According to WrestleZone, the WWE Hall of Famer reflected on the moment, saying it would not have happened had he not left WWE to sign with AEW. The win over Steve Maclin marked a significant moment for Copeland, who finally got the opportunity to main event in front of his hometown crowd.
Copeland, known to WWE fans for years as the Rated R Superstar, has continued to find new career milestones since moving to AEW, with the Toronto main event standing as one of the clearest examples of how that decision has shaped his path.
No further details on the match itself or additional comments from Copeland were included in the available report.
