Dustin Rhodes has revealed he is writing a second book about his life and career, responding to a fan on social media to confirm the project is already underway. The AEW wrestler and coach previously authored the memoir “Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of the Darkness” in 2010, which detailed his personal struggles and his years performing as the Goldust character.
According to Rhodes, this new book will allow him to tell his story without the restrictions he says he faced while writing under WWE’s guidance. He indicated that his “hands were tied” with what he could say in his first memoir because of his relationship with “the other company” at the time, a reference to WWE, where he spent the bulk of his career before joining AEW.
Details on the new book remain limited. Rhodes has not announced a title, release date, publisher, or specific subject matter beyond confirming the project exists and that it is intended as a more complete and unfiltered account than his first effort. Both F4W Online and 411Mania reported the news after Rhodes made the comments on social media, with neither outlet indicating that any further specifics were shared at the time.
Rhodes has been one of the most recognizable figures in professional wrestling for decades, known both for his in-ring career as Goldust and for his current role as a wrestler and coach within AEW. His 2010 memoir was notable for its candid discussion of the personal difficulties he faced during his WWE tenure, including substance abuse and family issues, and it remains one of the more widely discussed wrestling autobiographies of that era.
A second book carries the potential to expand on that earlier account, particularly given Rhodes’ suggestion that editorial constraints limited what he could previously disclose. Since no publisher or timeline has been confirmed, it is not yet clear when fans might expect to see the finished project reach shelves, but Rhodes’ confirmation that writing has already begun marks the first concrete step toward its eventual release.
