About Dutch Mantell

Debuting in 1972 on the regional and independent circuits, “Dirty” Dutch Mantell carved out a legendary career across the NWA and USWA territories, accumulating over 25 championships including the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Title, captured by defeating Jerry Lawler on August 8, 1997. He was instrumental in the careers of Sting, the Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, and Kane, and is credited with giving Steve Austin his stage surname. He is also credited with creating the TNA Knockouts division during his run as a booker there beginning in 2003.
In 2013, Mantell returned to WWE as Zeb Colter, a politically charged manager aligned with Jack Swagger before being released by WWE on May 6, 2016. He joined Impact Wrestling in January 2017 as a creative consultant and was promoted to head of the creative team before departing in December after Don Callis and Scott D’Amore took over as Executive Vice Presidents. Since May 2022, Mantell has co-hosted Story Time with Dutch Mantell, hosted by James Romero on the WSI Network, where he remains an active and outspoken voice on the wrestling industry.
