The founding leader of the Bullet Club in NJPW, Bálor arrived in WWE and redefined what a top-tier superstar looked like. He became the first wrestler in WWE history to win a world title in their pay-per-view debut, capturing the inaugural Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016 — only to vacate it the following night after sustaining a shoulder injury. His résumé also includes the Intercontinental Championship, Undisputed WWE Tag Team gold, the United States title, and two NXT Championship reigns, giving him the longest combined NXT Championship reign in history at 504 days. The Demon alter ego and the Coup de Grâce remain his calling cards.

After nearly three years as a key member of Judgment Day, Bálor settled scores at WrestleMania 42 by defeating Dominik Mysterio in a Street Fight while resurrecting the Demon persona. He then closed out the Judgment Day chapter by beating JD McDonagh in the deciding match of their best-of-three series on the May 18 edition of RAW. His brand switch to SmackDown was confirmed on the June 1 episode of RAW, where he is now set to compete in the opening round of the King of the Ring Tournament in a Fatal Four-Way against Royce Keys, Jey Uso, and LA Knight — with the tournament finals at Night of Champions on June 27 and a SummerSlam title shot on the line.
