Regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Omega made his name during his tenure in NJPW from 2014 to 2019, during which he held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and established himself as a main event draw. He became the first Gaijin to win the G1 Climax (2016). Capturing AEW’s premier title at the end of 2020, Omega went on another incredible run before losing the belt to Adam Page. His signature One-Winged Angel finishing move and V-Trigger running knee strike, the latter a reference to Street Fighter V, remain protected and devastating. He became AEW’s inaugural Grand Slam champion by winning the AEW International Championship in March 2025.
For the first time since 2018, Omega faces Zack Sabre Jr. at this month’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view. After being gone for over a month since failing to unseat MJF as the AEW Men’s World Champion at Dynasty 2026, Omega made his return to action at Double or Nothing 2026 alongside The Young Bucks and Jack Perry. Omega is fully back involved with AEW behind the scenes and in creative discussions.
