A three-time AEW World Champion with a record six Dynamite Diamond Ring wins to his name, MJF holds the distinction of the longest singular title reign in AEW history at 406 days. He remains the youngest man to hold the AEW World Championship, first winning it at 26 years old. The self-proclaimed Salt of the Earth built his reputation on vicious promo work, elite technical wrestling, and low-blow opportunism — a character praised for his aggressive villainy and ability to blur the line between storylines.

The current champion is in his third reign, having won the title by defeating Darby Allin in a Title vs. Hair match at Double or Nothing on May 24, 2026. Most recently on the June 3 Dynamite, he retained against RUSH via crossface submission, then low-blowed Mark Briscoe after the match — Briscoe having gone on to issue an impassioned AEW World Title challenge that MJF flatly rejected.
