/ ABOUT REY FENIX
A former AAA Fusión, Mega, Latin American, and Cruiserweight Champion, and a Triple Crown Champion in Lucha Underground, Fenix teamed with his brother Penta as the Lucha Brothers, capturing multiple tag reigns across MLW, Impact, PWG, AEW, ROH, and AAA. On June 18, 2022, at Triplemanía XXX: Tijuana, he unified the AAA Cruiserweight and Latin American Championships in a high-stakes five-way match, becoming the first wrestler to hold all of AAA's men's championships. After joining AEW in 2019 as part of Death Triangle, he moved to WWE in April 2025, wrestling under his iconic mask on SmackDown. Fenix now has the distinction of being the only man in AAA history to have held the same championship under two different regimes, with this being his second reign as the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion following his 13-month reign with the belt between 2022 and 2023. The title change came after a heated rivalry with Laredo Kid — the two traded victories, with Laredo Kid turning heel and retaining in a low-blow finish, before AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio sanctioned a third encounter, which Fenix won. On SmackDown, Gable issued an apology to Rey Fenix on June 5, 2026, and with the apology accepted, the two appear to be heading toward a Chad Gable redemption arc. Lince Dorado has since been named the #1 contender to Fenix's AAA Cruiserweight Title.
