A former All-American collegiate wrestler out of the University of Buffalo, Tony D’Angelo debuted on NXT in October 2021 with an Italian-American mob boss persona and quickly built one of the brand’s most dominant factions. As Don of The D’Angelo Family, he collected the NXT Heritage Cup, NXT North American Championship, and NXT Tag Team Championship — twice — alongside Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. He became the first-ever NXT Grand Slam Champion, cementing a legacy unmatched in NXT history.
D’Angelo captured the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 4, 2026, defeating Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, and Ricky Saints in a fatal four-way match. He currently reigns as NXT Champion and is engaged in an active feud heading into the Great American Bash, with challengers lining up to dethrone the Don at the top of the brand.
