Major League Wrestling confirmed that IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji will appear at Saturday Night SuperFight on November 7th in Cicero, Illinois. The news came after MLW had been teasing Tsuji’s arrival in the promotion, and Tsuji himself confirmed the booking in a social media video posted ahead of the announcement.
Tsuji’s addition to the SuperFight card arrived alongside a wave of developments from MLW Fusion, which was taped in front of a sold-out crowd in Philadelphia. According to MLW, the World Heavyweight Championship main event for SuperFight came into focus during that taping, with Killer Kross offering Josh Bishop another opportunity at his World Heavyweight Championship.
The Philadelphia taping also featured Matt Riddle in action, though specific details of his match were not outlined beyond his involvement being part of the broader Fusion card that MLW described as producing a “championship thriller.” Shotzi was also featured on the show, with MLW reporting that she survived an encounter involving the villainous faction HATE.
Building Toward Cicero
With Tsuji now officially part of the November 7th lineup and the World Heavyweight Championship picture clarified around Kross and Bishop, MLW has set up two of its most significant storylines heading into Saturday Night SuperFight. Tsuji’s move into MLW marks a notable crossover for the promotion, bringing in a reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion to a MLW pay-per-view event for the first time under these circumstances, according to Fightful’s report on his booking.
The rematch between Kross and Bishop for the World Heavyweight Championship gives SuperFight a defined main event, with Bishop having previously challenged for the title and now set to receive another opportunity, per MLW’s own account of the Fusion taping. Neither outlet detailed the finish or stipulations of the Fusion segments involving Riddle or Shotzi’s faction confrontation, leaving those specifics to be addressed as MLW continues to roll out content from the Philadelphia taping ahead of the Cicero event.
Saturday Night SuperFight is scheduled for November 7th in Cicero, Illinois, with Tsuji’s appearance and the Kross-Bishop title rematch now confirmed as part of the card.
