Chad Gable says he is trying to make his WWE Intercontinental Championship reign “something special” by keeping fans convinced the title could change hands during any of his defenses.
Gable won the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam in August. Since then, he has defended the title against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee, matches that have been widely praised, with some observers ranking them among the best of Gable’s career.
Speaking with Complex Graps, Gable discussed how holding the championship has given him more opportunities to work longer, higher-stakes matches, and outlined his goal of making viewers believe the title is genuinely at risk every time he steps into the ring to defend it.
WWE has not announced Gable’s next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship following his outings against Mysterio and Dragon Lee.
