Netflix has reportedly told WWE it wants to see Raw loaded with bigger stars and matches after the September 14 episode from Mexico City drew a surge in viewership, according to Ringside News.
That broadcast was headlined by Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta, and it pulled in more than three million viewers, marking Raw’s best number since WrestleMania season, per eWrestlingNews.
According to Fightful, citing WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, Netflix was “highly enthusiastic” about the feedback on the overall show, with both Netflix and WWE encouraged by the response to the Mexico City edition.
Ringside News reported that the reaction inside Netflix to the Reigns-Penta main event was described as massive, with the streamer apparently pushing WWE to repeat that kind of star-driven booking going forward.
