AEW President Tony Khan has announced that the September 30 episode of AEW Dynamite will be dedicated as a tribute show to PAC, following the wrestler’s death at age 40. PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, will be honored on the September 30 broadcast, which airs at 8 p.m. ET on TBS and HBO Max.
Khan made the announcement ahead of Ring of Honor television tapings held at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday, September 28. According to Wrestling News, Khan streamed the announcement live on his X account just prior to the tapings getting underway.
WrestleZone reported that Khan’s announcement came after an emotional ten-bell salute for PAC at the ROH tapings, with Khan addressing the crowd while wearing black. Slam Wrestling relayed AEW’s official statement on the tribute, which read in part that the promotion would “honor the life, career and legacy of one of the greatest people we’ve ever known, @BastardPAC.”
The September 30 Dynamite broadcast is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh. Wrestling News noted that some previously planned segments or storylines for the show may be delayed to a later date to accommodate the tribute, though that remains speculation from the outlet rather than a confirmed detail from AEW.
