Necro Butcher is claiming that he has signed a Legends Deal with WWE, a surprising development given that the longtime independent star has never worked a match for the company. The news surfaced through a post Necro made on his personal Facebook page, which was subsequently reported by Fightful, Ringside News, eWrestlingNews, and WrestleView.
According to the post, Necro wrote, “I have signed a basic legends deal with the WWE.” He added that the timing of the offer was unusual, noting, “The offer actually came in the day after I walked out of my job. The timing was ridiculous.” He went on to say that the agreement opens the door to various opportunities, though he did not specify what those might entail.
Necro Butcher, whose real name is Dylan Summers, built his reputation over a long independent career that included stints with IWA Mid-South, CZW, ROH, and JCW, where he became known for his hardcore and deathmatch style. He is also recognized by mainstream audiences for his appearance in the 2008 film “The Wrestler” alongside Mickey Rourke.
As of this report, WWE has not issued any public confirmation of a Legends Deal with Necro Butcher, and the claim rests solely on his own Facebook statement. None of the reporting outlets that picked up the story cited any additional comment from WWE officials, so the full terms and scope of the arrangement remain known only to Necro himself.
