AEW’s coming off a rough outing at the CMLL crossover β getting worked in interpromotional competition isn’t exactly the energy you want heading into a Wednesday night. Willow Nightingale’s been living her best life outside the ring (Ted Lasso premieres, anyone?), but she’s got to keep the Women’s World Championship warm tonight. Kyle Fletcher, meanwhile, continues his crusade to cement himself as the greatest worker alive, and he’s holding the International strap with the kind of intensity only someone with Fletcher’s ceiling can muster.
Willow Nightingale (AEW Women’s World Champion)
Willow’s been absent-ish since Beach Break β the Hollywood run is cool and all, but TBS wants to see their women’s champion defend. Expect tonight to be either a tune-up or the start of a new program.
WAW Pick: Willow retains and stays in command heading into Grand Slam Mexico.
Kyle Fletcher (AEW International Champion)
Fletcher’s still operating at an elite level after his CMLL work, and treating tonight’s defense like it’s the biggest deal in the world β which, in his mind, it is. The man’s two-time TNT champ, Trios champ, and current International champ for a reason.
WAW Pick: Fletcher retains and continues the climb toward a world title program.
Don’t sleep on Daniel Garcia showing up to confront someone on the card. The dude’s been on an unsettling real-life journey lately (stabbing threats in LA are no joke), and AEW might use tonight to reset his narrative with a strong TV moment.
