Cody Rhodes has offered a rare glimpse into the length of his WWE contract and his thinking on a potential in-ring showdown with The Rock, addressing both topics in a wide-ranging interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight Podcast.

According to F4W Online, Rhodes estimated that his current WWE contract runs for another six or seven years. The comment is one of the more specific timelines Rhodes has put on record regarding his future with the company, and it comes alongside his previous stated goal of wrestling until age 40. Rhodes also used the conversation to express interest in expanding his career in Hollywood, suggesting that his ambitions outside the ring remain part of his long-term planning even as he commits years more to WWE.

In a separate but related portion of the same interview, reported by Ringside News, Rhodes was asked directly whether WWE had ever actually planned a singles match between him and The Rock. Rhodes did not confirm or deny that such plans existed at any point, choosing instead to keep that specific question unanswered. What he did offer was his personal belief that The Rock may still have a handful of matches left in him, and Rhodes did not rule out the possibility that he could be involved in one of them.

The dynamic between Rhodes and The Rock has been a recurring talking point in WWE storytelling in recent years, given The Rock’s periodic on-screen involvement with the company and his standing as one of its most recognizable figures. Rhodes stopping short of confirming or denying a planned match leaves the history of that angle somewhat open-ended, while his openness to a future encounter keeps the possibility alive in the minds of fans without WWE having made any official announcement on the subject.

Taken together, the two comments paint a picture of a champion thinking in dual timelines: a multi-year runway still remaining on his current WWE contract, and a longer-term interest in in-ring opportunities, including a potential match with The Rock, that could still develop before his career winds down. No match has been confirmed, and WWE has not announced any plans involving Rhodes and The Rock as of this report.
