“Coyote vs. Acme,” a live-action/CGI hybrid comedy, was shelved by Warner Bros. in 2023 for a tax write-off on its $70 million budget, despite receiving very positive test screenings. Following the news, there was significant backlash, which led the studio to reconsider their decision and explore selling the film. However, they rejected offers from several studios, causing the film to remain on the shelf. In March 2025, Ketchup Entertainment acquired the movie for a reported $50 million, and it is set to hit theaters on August 28th.
