CM Punk’s taken the Undisputed title, fired shots at the locker room on podcasts, and drawn heat for doing exactly what he spent years criticizing. Tonight in Dallas, WWE finally puts some meat on those bones with the IC Gauntlet—a legitimate proving ground that’ll separate the hungry from the Twitter-addicted. The Vision’s got momentum after stealing tag gold via Maxxine’s heel turn, but the real question is whether Punk’s new WWE will deliver on its promised meritocracy or just become another vanity project.
WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match
(Dragon Lee vs. Chad Gable vs. Joe Hendry vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page vs. Dominik Mysterio)
Six men fighting for the right to challenge PENTA—and this is the kind of match that separates the wheat from the chaff. Gable’s a safe bet, but Evans and Hendry have momentum, and you can’t count out Dom when blood’s involved. This either validates Punk’s “best wrestler wins” philosophy or exposes it as lip service.
WAW Pick: Chad Gable wins after Dragon Lee eliminates Page, setting up a technical masterclass with PENTA.
Contract Signing (Specifics TBA)
WWE loves a contract signing to spiral into chaos. Expect some version of a main event angle getting officially announced here, whether it’s a title match or the next Punk grudge match.
WAW Pick: Someone gets thrown through the table.
Brock Lesnar Appearance
No word yet on what The Beast is doing, but you don’t book him in Dallas without a reason—especially with Punk running the show and clearly trying to shake up the hierarchy.
WAW Pick: Lesnar’s inserted into a title program within the next two weeks.
The Danhausen/Logan Paul arm curse angle has gotten genuinely absurd (we’re at $12K now), and Paul’s vlogging about being ahead of schedule on his triceps. If The Vision needs a distraction storyline to eat a loss tonight, expect Danhausen to show up and demand payment mid-match. It’s dumb enough that WWE would actually do it.
