New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced that YOH will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Robbie X at the promotion’s Road to King of Pro-Wrestling show on October 7, according to a report from Fightful.
The match was set after YOH defeated Taiji Ishimori to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Battle Line Hokkaido event, per Fightful. Following that title defense, YOH nominated Robbie X as his next challenger, and the promotion has since locked in the matchup for the October 7 show.
POST Wrestling also reported the title defense against Robbie X, confirming the challenger and date for the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling card.
The match adds another chapter to YOH’s junior heavyweight title reign, which now includes a successful defense against Taiji Ishimori before turning to a new challenger in Robbie X.
