Drew McIntyre is getting his reps in. The former WWE Champion took to social media on Friday, September 25, to share footage of himself training inside the ring at Rusev’s Kech Pro Wrestling Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, captioning the post simply as “Reps.”
McIntyre has not competed for WWE since falling to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match at WrestleMania 42 in April. The two had been locked in a heated rivalry heading into that show, one that spilled into a series of wild brawls and prompted WWE to strip the bout of any rules.
Since then, McIntyre’s absence from WWE programming has largely been connected to outside commitments, with reports indicating he has spent much of his time away working on Hollywood film projects, including roles in Highlander and The Last Druid. According to eWrestlingNews, McIntyre has since returned to the United States after time spent on those projects.
WWE has not made any official statement regarding a McIntyre return, and no match, date, or storyline has been confirmed. The new training footage, however, is the clearest public sign yet that McIntyre is staying ring-ready as he remains off television, and it has been enough to reignite fan speculation across multiple outlets that his comeback could be drawing closer.
