Former WWE star Joseph Hennig, better known as Curtis Axel, has resolved his DWI case in Minnesota through a plea agreement, according to court records reviewed by multiple wrestling outlets including Ringside News, eWrestlingNews, Slam Wrestling, PWMania, Wrestling Headlines and F4W Online.
Hennig was arrested in May 2026 following an incident at a McDonald’s in Anoka County, Minnesota. Court records show a plea agreement was submitted on August 24, in which Hennig entered guilty pleas to the misdemeanor charges of DWI and disorderly conduct.
Two additional charges, refusing to submit to chemical testing and interfering with a peace officer, were dismissed as part of the agreement. Slam Wrestling reported that Hennig was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days stayed, meaning he will not serve additional time behind bars as long as he complies with the terms of his sentence.
The case had been pending since Hennig’s arrest in the spring, and its resolution closes out the legal matter tied to the Anoka County incident. Hennig, who wrestled for WWE for years under the Curtis Axel name, has not publicly commented on the plea agreement.
