AJ Styles made a rare in-ring appearance over the weekend, coming to the aid of his son Avery Styles at an Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment event, according to reports from F4W Online and Wrestling Headlines.
Avery Styles had just finished a match against an opponent identified only as Jones when he found himself facing a post-match attack, the reports state. AJ Styles intervened to prevent the assault on his son, marking a brief and unplanned return to in-ring action for the retired WWE Hall of Famer.
F4W Online noted that AJ Styles’ last wrestling match came prior to this appearance, underscoring how uncommon it is for him to step inside the ropes since his retirement. Both outlets characterized the Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment moment as a spontaneous act to safeguard his son rather than a planned in-ring return.
No further details on the full bout, the stipulations of the match, or any additional confrontation beyond the post-match incident were included in the available reports.
