New Japan Pro-Wrestling has revealed the full 12-team field for its 2026 Super Junior Tag League, confirming that the tournament will run across two six-team blocks beginning October 24 and culminating in the finals at Power Struggle on November 3.
The current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, El Desperado and Místico, have been placed in Block A for this year’s edition. Their participation adds a notable wrinkle to the tournament, since the champions are competing in the league rather than sitting it out, meaning any eventual title challenge would have to be earned separately from their own run through the bracket.
Among the other notable entrants are KUSHIDA and Nick Wayne, who have been confirmed as a team for the 2026 tournament. Their pairing stands out as one of the more cross-promotional stories of this year’s field, bringing together one of junior heavyweight wrestling’s most established veterans with a younger name who has built his profile outside of NJPW’s usual pipeline.
The tournament field also includes a team referred to as The Swirl, which has been announced as part of the 2026 lineup, continuing the Super Junior Tag League’s tradition of mixing homegrown NJPW junior talent with outside acts brought in specifically for the tournament. With El Desperado and Místico occupying Block A as defending champions, the rest of the field is left to battle through the two blocks with a future shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship likely on the line for whichever team ultimately wins it all.
NJPW has not detailed the complete round-robin schedule beyond confirming the October 24 start date and the November 3 finals at Power Struggle. As the tournament progresses, block standings and specific tag matchups will determine which teams advance to challenge for a place in the finals, setting up the stakes for the remainder of the Super Junior Tag League’s run through the fall calendar.
