Rey Mysterio has offered a new look at his daughter Aalyah Mysterio’s rapid development inside WWE, revealing that she competed in her first live match at the WWE Performance Center in February 2026, only two weeks after she began training there.
Aalyah Mysterio, who has also been referred to as Aalyah Gutierrez, was previously announced as part of an incoming WWE Performance Center recruiting class. While she has not yet appeared in a televised match, Rey Mysterio’s comments indicate that WWE moved quickly to get her live in-ring reps once her training began.
Rey Mysterio discussed his daughter’s progress during an appearance on a show hosted by Stephanie McMahon, according to Ringside News. The legendary luchador expressed that he is impressed with how fast Aalyah Mysterio has picked up the fundamentals of professional wrestling, framing her two-week turnaround to a live match as a notable marker of her natural ability.
The Performance Center traditionally serves as the proving ground for WWE’s developmental talent, with live events functioning as an internal testing space before recruits are considered for NXT or main roster television opportunities. A live match coming just two weeks into formal training represents an accelerated timeline compared to the typical runway WWE gives newcomers before they step in front of a crowd, even an internal one.
Aalyah Mysterio’s addition to the Performance Center class continues a storyline of wrestling lineage already well established in WWE through her father, a WWE Hall of Fame-caliber performer whose family name carries significant weight with fans. Her brother Dominik Mysterio has been a prominent presence on WWE television, and Rey Mysterio himself remains an active performer and locker room veteran. Aalyah Mysterio’s own in-ring development will now be watched closely as she continues to train, with her February live match marking the first confirmed public benchmark of that journey.
No date has been confirmed for a televised debut, and WWE has not indicated when Aalyah Mysterio might appear on NXT or any other broadcast platform. For now, the confirmed details are limited to her Performance Center enrollment, the two-week training window described by her father, and the February live match itself.
