CM Punk’s shocking WWE Championship win last night on Raw has the entire company in flux, but NXT continues its business as usual β which means developmental talent grinding away while the brass figures out what the hell they’re doing with the main event scene. Tonight’s card is tag team focused with a four-way dance determining the next challengers for the NXT Tag Titles, so expect some solid wrestling and positioning work ahead of what could be a pivotal summer for the brand.
Four-Way Tag Team Match (Winners Challenge For NXT Tag Titles): O.T.M. vs. DarkState vs. TBD vs. TBD
This is your workmanlike opener that matters more for storyline than spectacle. The winners get a shot at gold, which in NXT usually means something β unlike the main roster where title shots are handed out like participation trophies. Watch for O.T.M. to show they’re still a force, because Bronco Nima and Lucien Price have been consistently solid.
WAW Pick: O.T.M. advances to the title picture.
With Ilja Dragunov potentially returning soon and GUNTHER still lurking as NXT’s shadow heavyweight champion, don’t be shocked if tonight features a segment teasing their eventual collision β especially if WWE wants to give NXT viewers something to hang onto while Raw implodes.
