Zoey Serrano, known during her WWE run as Zoey Stark, has publicly addressed years of fan speculation about her sexuality, saying she is straight while expressing appreciation for her LGBT+ fanbase.
Speaking during an interview with Ring The Belle, Serrano said she still receives comments along the lines of “she’s straight?” from fans. “I love my gays, I love you all, I am straight though,” she said, according to the interview cited by Fightful, Wrestling Headlines and NoDQ.
The speculation dates back to the formation of the Pure Fusion Collective in WWE, a faction that also included Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville, both of whom are members of the LGBT+ community. Fans reportedly nicknamed the group “The Lesbian Shield” at the time, given Baszler and Deville’s identities, and that label appears to have extended into ongoing speculation about Serrano herself.
Serrano’s comments mark a direct response to that long-running fan narrative, clarifying her own sexual orientation while making clear she values the LGBT+ fans who have followed her career.
